Neck Lift in Calabasas
While dieting and exercise can help you to feel better about yourself, they can’t always fix certain cosmetic problems such as sagging, wrinkling skin on the neck or a double chin. If you are tired of struggling with the signs of aging and are ready to pursue an aesthetic procedure, contact Dr. Tansavatdi today to find out if a neck lift is right for you. A surgical neck lift can create a smooth, firm, and youthful appearance, improving definition in the jawline while boosting your self-confidence and self-image.
What is a neck lift?
Dr. Tansavatdi customizes your neck lift to treat your individual signs of aging, such as sagging, banding, and a double chin. She will create small incisions behind the ears and/or beneath the chin to remove excess skin and fat while tightening the platysmal muscles. Liposuction may be combined with your neck lift to sculpt and slim the submental area and improve definition in the jawline. Neck lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation and typically takes 1-2 hours.
What are the benefits of a neck lift?
- Reduces submental fat
- Corrects sagging contours
- Combats vertical neck banding
- Slims, sculpts and firms the profile
- Enhances youthfulness
- Boosts self-confidence
- Natural-looking results
- Can be well-combined with a facelift, blepharoplasty or a brow lift
- Long-lasting results
Who makes an ideal candidate for a neck lift?
While non-surgical solutions may be able to combat aging in the neck temporarily, eventually, only a surgical neck lift will be able to address the vertical banding, sagging skin, and double chin that occurs with maturity. If you are ready to take the leap, a neck lift may be able to accomplish your cosmetic goals and restore the confidence you used to have when you were younger.
Ideal candidates are healthy individuals who do not smoke and who are realistic in their expectations for their results. Dr. Tansavatdi will perform a detailed evaluation during your private consultation and can let you know for sure whether a neck lift will suit your needs.
What can I expect after a neck lift?
After surgery, there may be some minor bruising, swelling, tenderness, and tightness. These are normal side effects of a neck lift and can be well-managed with prescription pain medications provided by Dr. Tansavatdi. Temporary numbness may also occur, but this will disappear within a few days. You will need to rest and sleep with your head elevated, so make sure you have plenty of pillows lined up. Within around 2 weeks, you will be ready to face the world again and many resume work at that time. Your final results will be visible around 2-3 months post-op.
