Recovery from chin augmentation surgery
During the 3 to 5 days following chin augmentation surgery, patients may experience mild numbness, soreness, or draining. The chin may also be swollen, but these side effects should subside within a week.
You can usually shower and/or wash your face within 48 hours after your surgery, but be very careful when doing so. Brushing your teeth is fine to do immediately, as long as you are very mindful around the incisions. During recovery, it’s best to limit excessive facial movements for 1 to 2 weeks, and it’s also important to avoid putting pressure on your chin for six weeks. Patients are able to return to work and other activities within 5 to 7 days. Physical exercise and other strenuous activities may be restricted for up to three weeks or longer.
More detailed post-operative instructions will be provided to each patient, and the recovery process will be carefully monitored by Dr. Tansavatdi and her staff to ensure the best healing period and results. If you have any questions or concerns about the recovery process, please feel free to ask us.
